Instead of using a mould, each Claritas is built by mixing single layers of clear and coloured glass. Sarpaneva achieved the remarkable ’eyes’ effect through his interpretation of an old steam blowing method. This results is an everchanging illusion of patterns inside the layered glass depending on the angle that it’s viewed. The dimensions of each decorative vase vary depending on the master glassblower, making each Claritas a truly one of a kind showpiece.
